So slack!
Ok , So it's been a while ...
Lots has happened!
So much in a few weeks!
What a busy arse time this has been, I have hardly had time to scratch let alone update this site.
Where to start?
House Renovations
Well, we pulled down the entire 39mts of old fence, ripped out solid concrete posts (all 18 of them) and have now used the ones that came out in one piece for garden bed edging.
We then, dug holes, levelled land, strung up string line, screwed together new posts, and put up the new good neighbour fence from BHP. They were the best price in town except they are a bit misleading with their advertising and sales pitch.
Me - “So that quote is the complete entire fence?”
BHP – “Yes, it comes with everything except cement”
Me – “Great, all I have to do is get cement then?”
BHP – “Yes, that’s correct”
Blah blah, so it goes on, we get it delivered.
Check through the list of bits and there are no fence caps. A minor technicality. I call them and explain they are missing.
Me “We didn’t get our fence caps”
BHP – “They are not normally included”
Me “My quote says everything except cement”
BHP – “We don’t quote on that, you have to ask for them extra”
Me –“How much are they then?”
BHP – “50c each”
Me – “So I just spent $1500 on my fence which you said included everything and now I have to get fence caps separately”
BHP – “Yes, awfully sorry about that”
Me “(thinks a lot of nasty swear words) what’s your managers name, I intend to write to him.”
Anyway, long story shot, after the social akwardness of not having a fence to separate us, and seeing the neighbors all the time we have now got a nice new fence!
Many many blood sweat and tears went into this fence and we nearly killed off the 70 year old neighbor - Jimmy, who insisted on helping us build it.
But it was certainly worth it ... here is a pictorial representation of the construction etc.

BEFORE - the great divide ...

CONSTRUCTION PHASE - and a 'moment' I was having ... thinking to myself, when will this nightmare end???

FINISHED!!!! thank god for that ... mental note to self, do not ever ever ever build another fence!

She is having trouble settling into a government based job, and is describing all the crazy things that have to be done just to get the phone connected in her office...and to get post it notes from the stationary cupboard!
